4 EASY WAYS TO MAKE MONEY WHILE TRAVELLING

About a decade ago when Blue Collar Comedy was quite popular, comedian Jeff Foxworthy had a bit where he talked about dads on vacation. While the whole family was running around having fun, Foxworthy described the father’s role as a “money vomiting pack mule”. He then proceeded to throw money around the stage, adhering to his family’s wishes about wanting a soda, a photo book and all kinds of other souvenirs.
Many people see travelling as a black hole for their money, but that doesn’t always have to be the case. More and more people are travelling, and for longer periods, every year. It’s not uncommon to hear about someone take a long gap year, quitting their job or simply taking a long vacation. It’s likely you’re already planning your next vacation.
Your travels don’t have to be just about spending money, there are many different ways you can go about making money while you travel. Below is a small list of possible items.

Teaching English

English, despite being the third most spoken native language in the world, is the world’s language. Go to any place on the face of the earth, and they’re likely to have English somewhere. Many countries will have menus in their native language and an English translation. It’s great to be a native English speaker!
Countless places are looking for English teachers. Western Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, China, Japan, South Korea, Eastern Europe and even places in the United States always need native English teachers.
Some jobs don’t even require you to be there in person and all you need is a webcam and an internet connection to teach English. The good part is, many of these jobs require no experience at all and offer free training.
It’s a great way to stay long term in a country, earn a living wage and continue traveling.

Brand Yourself

“Influencer” is a broad term these days and is usually used for anyone who has a strong online, particularly in social media, presence. Turns out, it’s also a pretty good way to make money.
One of the ways you can earn money online while travelling is through a blog or social media page. Make a creative domain name to give your website its own style and flair. While it may take time to build up a following, it’s a great way to secure promotions.
The way you will make money off your online presence is through ads. If you build up a large enough following or have traffic coming through your blog, you can make posts about certain products.
This is more or a long game option and something that won’t be immediately available, so be patient with your planning. Research ways to boost your SEO and really focus on your target audience as well.

Go Local

Great advice on not only how to support small businesses, but another working option for you. As a warning, this may not be available in all countries – do some research ahead of time.
Many tourist locations simply do not have the manpower for the influx of people that come to visit. That means that resorts, tour places, museums and other landmarks may be looking for summer staff or tourist high season staff to fill in.
This is a fantastic way to travel, meet loads of people and earn some money. Even if you don’t feel like you have the perfect skills for the job, many sites offer you training and others simply require you to have a good attitude and a smiling face.
One of the popular opportunities is working in a hotel or hostel. As mentioned before, English is a great tool and your native or high-level English is a great way to open doors for you. You might even be able to secure lodging for free or cheap.

Go to the Internet

Remote working is on the rise around the world, and there are tons of remote opportunities. Some companies are looking for full-time employees while other websites simply ask you to complete certain tasks, like surveys, to be paid.
You’ll always want to check the legitimacy of websites before you make any kind of commitment and look for others who have had similar experiences.
Just like building your blog or social media page, it may take some time to build up a profile. Start off with lower paying jobs and gradually work your way up. It’s a grind, but can help you keep travelling and finding new adventures.
